This series includes the minutes and miscellaneous records of the Faculty, in both original paper format and microfilm. The minutes for the first meeting covered in Vol. 1, for 3rd mo. 5, 1877, start with approval of the minutes of the previous meeting, indicating that there is probably a missing volume.

Gilbert was appointed the first Provost of Swarthmore College in 1969. Arthur Beardsley was a Professor of Civil and Mechanical Engineering at Swarthmore College from 1872-1889 and Librarian of Friends Historical Library of Swarthmore College from 1893-1917. The collection contains bound notebooks with handwritten math and science problems with solutions, diagrams, and proofs.

Robert C. Brooks Papers

Robert Clarkson Brooks (1874-1941) was a Professor of Economics at Swarthmore College from 1904-1908 and Joseph Wharton Professor of Political Science from 1912. The collection includes personal papers, including letters to a student, and lecture notes for various courses in political science.
