Lungren-Raiman Family Papers

Abstract C. Howard Lungren (b. 1855) and Rebecca C. Allen were married in Philadelphia in 1880. They moved to Swarthmore in 1901 and lived at 230 Rutgers Avenue. Their daughter Rebecca married Dr. William A. Raiman in 1879. The Raimans lived at 501 Harvard Avenue, and the house remained in the family until 2001. Swarthmore Rotary Club Records

The Swarthmore Rotary Club was organized April 1, 1937, and held its first luncheon on April 9th. It was chartered on April 26, 1937, with fifteen charter members. Woman's Club of Swarthmore records

This collection contains the records of the Woman's Club of Swarthore, founded in 1898. The Club offered women of the community a means of support and education, a place to meet and find common interests and nurtured the founding of a number of community organizations. The Club disbanded in 2002.

Abstract Anne Jackson Perkins was born May 10, 1925, and died June 7, 2010. She attended Swarthmore High School, and later Guilford College and the University of Delaware, though she did not complete her bachelor’s degree. She worked as a librarian at Swarthmore College’s McCabe Library until she retired in 1988, and lived with her mother and sister until the ends of their lives. She never married, and her diaries often talk about romance, loneliness, mental and physical illness, dislike of family...
