Also included is the collection of Emily Cooper Johnson of notes and recollections for her biography of Jane Rushmore"Under Quaker Appointment." Primary correspondents include Hannah Clothier Hull.

Biographical / Historical
Jane Palen Rushmore was a Quaker teacher, author, and administrator. A birthright Quaker born in New York in 1878, Jane Rushmore was actively involved in the administration and organization of Hicksite Friends in Philadelphia. She was influential in the establishment of the Friends General Conference and served as General Secretary of Friends Central Bureau, 1911-45.
