Isabel was the second wife of Marian's father, Joseph Shortlidge. They married 1893, and Isabel served as matron at Maplewood School. Folder includes 1903 newspaper clipping covering the celebration of 50th year of teaching career of Joseph Shortlidge, ribbon from Women’s Temperance Union National Convention, 1890, and ALS from Isabel to Marian's brother,Chauncey, signed “Mother.” 1915 note to host a reception for her grandson, a senior at Swarthmore College.
