Account of an incident in which a Samuel Loyd, who called himself a commissioned officer from Lancaster Co., came to Byberry to apprehend an African American wanted in connection with a murder investigation. Unable to locate the suspect, he returned to the vicinity at night and proceeded to abuse other African American residents. Deposited by Byberry Monthly Meeting.
