The Pan Pacific Women's Association developed under the auspices of the Pan-Pacific Union. The name was expanded in 1955 to the Pan Pacific and Southeast Asia Women's Association. The Association held conferences of national member committees at two or three year intervals, except during World War II. Jane Addams presided at the first conference held at Honolulu in 1928.
