Biographical / Historical
Walk for Peace planned journeys from New Haven, Connecticut, to the United Nations, March 29 to April, 1958; from Philadelphia to the U.N., March 29 to April, 1958; continuing in May of 1958 to the White House for a Memorial Day Weekend rally. The motto was "Stop Nuclear Weapons Tests to Start World Disarmament." A.J. Muste was chairman, Robert Gilmore served as Treasurer.
