Advancement and Outreach Committee (and predecessors)
Scope and Contents
In 1909, Baltimore Yearly Meeting appointed a committee "For the consideration of methods for increasing interest in the Society of Friends." They following year they conducted a survey, and, as a result, recommended that the Yearly Meeting appoint a General Secretary and a Standing Committee on Advancement of Friends Principles. The latter held its first meeting following Yearly Meeting sessions, and the former, Arthur M. Dewees, was employed before 1911.
