Biographical / Historical
A First Day Schools Association was formed in 1868, and came under the oversight of Baltimore Yearly Meeting in 1886 as the Central Committee on First Day Schools. By 1900 its name changed again to First Day Schools Committee.
In 1927, the committee changed its name to the Religious Education Committee.
