Biographical / Historical
Representative Meeting approved the formation of a Peace Concerns Committee in 1980, "to take an active role in doing peace work in the Yearly Meeting, to stimulate and to lead, to explore and spread ideas, and to support and uphold Friends in their peace work." It was particularly charged with responding to New Call to Peacemaking. The Peace Concerns Committee was laid down in 2008, and Witness Coordinating Committee appointed a Peace Concerns coordinator... "to carry on Friends' continuing concern for nonviolent conflict resolution."
In 2012, the Peace Concerns Coordinator recommended reforming a Peace Concerns Committee and as of 2018 there was a Peace Concerns Working Group under the Witness Coordinating Committee.
