It was established as a Ad Hoc committee of the Yearly Meeting in 1973, and became a Standing Committee the following year. Its purpose was to develop guidelines for the proper investment of meeting funds and to act as a contact between the Yearly Meeting and the subcommittee on Economic Responsibility... of FWCC. Its name was changed to Investor Responsibility Committee in 1978, and was laid down in 1981.
