Biographical / Historical

Multnomah Friends Meeting traces its history to an unprogrammed worship group that began in 1948. In 1952, the meeting formalized under care of Willamette Valley Monthly Meeting (Salem), and was set off as a monthly meeting in 1957.

Multnomah was affiliated with Pacific Yearly Meeting until the summer 1972 "North Pacific Gathering of Friends." That gathering, of Pacific Yearly Meeting's Willamette and Pacific Northwest Quarterly Meetings, formally established North Pacific Yearly Meeting after years of discussion.
