Manumissions [certificates], 1775 - 1798
Original certifiates, with seals, by Westbury Monthly Meeting members manumitting the people they enslaved.
Certificates include the full name of enslaver(s), the town of residence, the first name of the enslaved person, sometimes the person's gender and age, the date the enslaved person is to be manumitted if it is in the future, and sometimes the signatures of witnesses (in this file witnesses were generally also manumitting enslavers).
