This collection consists of the scholarly papers of Domingo Ricart, a long-time professor at the University of Kansas. Many of the materials relate to the 16th century writers and reformers Juan and Alfonso de Valdés.

SOA Watch Records

Abstract

The SOA Watch was founded in 1990 by Catholic peace activist, Father Roy Bourgeois. The organization tracks and monitors the work of the School of the Americas (SOA), renamed the "Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation," (WHISC), in 2001. The WHISC is a combat training school for Latin American military personnel, located at Fort Benning, Georgia. The SOA Watch is a direct action protest organization.

Russell Stetler papers

This collection contains materials related to Russell Stetler's work regarding the death penalty, primarily related to him videotaping Robert Harris' execution in 1992 which was then submitted as evidence for the Fierro v. Gomez case, which outlawed the use of lethal gas in executions.

Witness for Peace was founded in 1983 and was headquartered in Washington, D.C. The purpose of the group was to work with the people of Central America by acting in continuous nonviolent resistance to U.S. covert or overt intervention in their countries and to help change U.S. policy to one which fostered justice, peace, and friendship with the countries of Central America. Although primarily Christian, WFP welcomed others of otherspiritual approaches but who agreed with WFP's objectives
