Eleanor Stabler Clarke (1896-1995), a birthright Quaker, was active in the American Friends Service Committee and other Quaker organizations, and served on the Swarthmore College Board of Managers from 1935-1971. She was the daughter of Charles M. and Ida Palmer Stabler, and in 1918 she married William Anderson Clarke, Sr. Her sister, Cornelia Stabler Gillam (1898-1979) was active in the theater and performed for the U.S.O. in 1945 and 1946. George D. Cock Family Papers

This small collection includes George D. Cock's journal in two bound volumes of his trip in 1843 from his home in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, through Quaker communities in the East, including Philadelphia and Baltimore. The journal includes comments on his courtship of Susan W. Smith, who he married in 1845. The collection also includes a balance sheet from 1843 on freight carried, his marriage certificate, and a letter from his daughter, Marion Cock, which includes family information.

The Cooper-Richardson collection contains correspondence and family memorabilia from the Cooper family (William Evans and Sarah Matlack Roberts Cooper). Correspondence and miscellaneous papers of the Cooper family of Lancaster Co., Pa. Of particular interest are letters received from Aschel W. Cooper from New Orleans (1831-39, 1856, 1872, 1880) telling of his life in that city, Sarah Cooper's letter from Haiti (1855) describing her visit, and a letter from Hiriam T. to his sister (1847) regarding placement of her children. Also includes an advertisement of the Friend's Shaul Department of Cooper and Conard in Philadelphia (1884).
