Abstract

The Preston Reading Room Assocation, Haverford, PA, was founded in 1890 for the purpose of "maintaining a building and direct its uses in such a way as shall tend to promote the welfare of the neighborhood of Friends' Meeting at Haverford." The collection consists of one record book of minutes for the Presto Reading Room Association. It contains finance reports, purchases, and hiring decisions, among other information.

Red Cedar Monthly Meeting minutes

This collection contains one volume of minutes from the Red Cedar Monthly Meeting in Iowa. The minutes are comprised of responses to queries, descriptions of certificates recieved, committee reports, among other decisions of the body. Esther B. Rhoads papers

Abstract The papers of Esther Rhoads (1896-1979), a member of an influential Philadelphia Quaker family, Rhoads was a teacher, later head, of Friends Girls' School in Tokyo for over 50 years. She was also of great importance in work with Licensed Agencies for Relief in Asia and with the American Friends Service Committee, to assist Japanese-Americans affected by the War Relocation Act (forced removal and incarceration). San Jose Monthly and Preparative Meeting minutes

Scope and Contents

This collection consists of two volumes of minutes, one of which contains minutes from San Jose Monthly and Preparative Meetings, and one which contains minutes from San Jose Monthly Meeting. The latter also contains a brief description of the beginnings of worship in San Jose. The minutes contain business notes, as well as committee reports, responses to annual state of the meeting queries, membership decisions, and financial reports.
