Abstract

The autobiography of Willa E. Ballard, a Quaker teacher, describes Ballard's early life, her parents and siblings, her experience growing up as a Quaker, her training as a teacher, and her experiences teaching in Moorestown and Atlantic City, New Jersey, and at the Mekusukey School in the Seminole Nation, as well as her time as a teacher and later a principal at various schools in California.

Eugenie Benezet journal

Abstract

This collection is composed of the typed extracts of the diary of Eugenie Benezet, with entries dating between 1843 and 1849. Entries describe family news, Protestant and Catholic beliefs, and her work at a Friend's school in France. In later entries, Eugenie discusses the possibility of moving to England or the United States. All entries are in French.

Abstract Dorothea Johnson Blom (1911-1991) was a Quaker writer, artist, and teacher. She became a member of the Society of Friends in 1937 at Chappaqua Monthly Meeting, subsequently transferring to Purchase Monthly Meeting. She co-authored nine books and taught courses at Pendle Hill and other schools in art history and art appreciation with an emphasis on the Jungian concept of growth and spiritual needs.
