Collection contains Chester County, Pa., land-related records including a deed for land sold to Peter Chambers (colored) in East Marlborough in 1833 and survey papers for lands in the 1821-1838, including an 1824 survey of land for a burial ground for people of color conveyed from James Steemer. miscellaneous notes concerning funerals, report of First Day School, 1879, New Garden.

Parvin Family Genealogical Papers

The Parvin family was a Quaker family of Berks County, Pennsylvania. The collection contains papers of the Parvin and allied Brinton, Kirk, Smith, and Starr families, including list of burials in relocated Friends burying grounds of Exeter Monthly Meeting, and account of families affiliated with Maiden Creek Meeting.

West River Quaker Burial Ground Records

Overview Although Thomas Hooker devised a small plot of land to Friends in 1684 and Ann Pemberton deeded adjacent ground in 1833, the State of Maryland confirmed a 1867 deed when it incorporated Trustees for the "Quaker Burial Ground" in Galesville in 1888. This latter group of Trustees was made up of individuals whose families were interred in the ground, not necessarily all Quakers.
