Anne Moore journal

Abstract

Anne Moore was a Quaker minister from 1738 to 1783. Journal entries detail her travels as a Quaker minister to Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, parts of New England, and England. Entries also provide descriptions of Quaker meetings, visits from Friends, and Moore’s reflections on religion and advice for her children.

Elizabeth Hudson Morris diary

Abstract

Elizabeth Hudson Morris was a Quaker minister who traveled through the United States, Ireland, and Scotland. Diary entries describe Elizabeth’s travel as a Quaker minister throughout the British colonies in North America, as well as Ireland and Scotland, and Quaker meetings. Copied versions of letters from Jane Hoskins are also included in the volume.

Morris family commonplace book

Abstract

The commonplace book of the Morris family includes copied extracts from the journals of Margaret Morris, which include a description of Yellow Fever in Philadelphia in 1793, as well as copied poems, letters written by Mary Morris and Richard Hill Morris, and a clipped illustration depicting early settlers.

Morris-Shinn-Maier collection

Abstract This collection spans approximately 200 years, from the late 1700s to the late 1900s, and five generations of the Morris-Shinn-Maier family, which are traced through matrilineal and patrilineal lines. They were prominent Quaker businessmen and lawyers in the Philadelphia area, and a large portion of the collection is dedicated to their legal and business material, as well as a great deal of very detailed financial material. New Jersey Association for helping the Indians records

Scope and Contents

This collection contains two copies of the Constitution for the New Jersey Association for Helping Indians, 1757. One copy has signatures of subscribers who gave money for the cause, including John Woolman. The other copy was found among records at Haddonfield Monthly Meeting, Haddonfield, New Jersey.
