Benjamin H. Miller, U.S. Indian Inspector transcribed letters,1889-1890.

Abstract

The collection consists of typed transcripts of letters published in a local newspaper. They describe the places and people visited during Benjamin H. Miller's tenure as Indian Agent in South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota and elsewhere. The nineteen clippings, 1889-1890, were transcribed by William T. Thom, 3rd, a great-grandson. Also includes a typed manuscript introduction that describes Miller's farm, Mt Airy, Montgomery County, Maryland, and a typed index to the letters, 1974-1975.

Elliston P. Morris letterbook

This collection is comprised of four volumes of Elliston Morris's letterbooks, three large bound volumes, and one volume of Bushnell's Perfect Letter Copying Book. All volumes in the collection contain business correspondence related to financial transactions, including loans, and the buying and selling of real estate.

Morris family commonplace book

Abstract

The commonplace book of the Morris family includes copied extracts from the journals of Margaret Morris, which include a description of Yellow Fever in Philadelphia in 1793, as well as copied poems, letters written by Mary Morris and Richard Hill Morris, and a clipped illustration depicting early settlers.

Abstract Lucretia Mott was a prominent Philadelphia Quaker minister and a leader in reform movements, especially antislavery, education, peace, and women's rights. She was born in 1793 in Nantucket, Mass., the daughter of Thomas and Anna Coffin, and educated at Nine Partners Boarding School in Dutchess Co., N.Y.
