Sarah Wistar diary
Early diary entries describe Sallie's classes and studies in her efforts to earn her high school diploma, while later entries describe social calls, illnesses in the family, and other family news, as well as Sallie's responsibilities as the eldest daughter living at home.
Thomas Wistar journals
Thomas Wistar's journal entries largely describe his work as an Indian Commissioner, including visits to Washington D.C., the Seneca Nation, the Wichita Indian Agency, and other Native American Reservations. In addition to his work as a commissioner, entries detail social calls with family and friends, descriptions of Quaker meetings, and religious reflection and prayers.
Thomas Wistar letterbook
This collection is comprised of the single volume letterbook of Thomas Wistar. The majority of the letters copied in this volume are personal correspondence between Thomas Wistar and various family members and friends. A few letters included are letters of sympathy from friends and family written upon the death of Thomas Wistar in January, 1876.
Charles Wood correspondence
Charles Wood was born a Quaker and later became a Presbyterian minister. This collection is comprised of eight volumes of his compiled correspondence. Each volume contains personal correspondence from family and friends related to Wood's education, news of his family, and discussions of social outings and cricket.
