Priscilla Walker Streets Genealogical Research Papers,

Abstract

Priscilla Walker Streets (1848-1927) was a birthright member of Radnor Monthly Meeting (Quaker) and a genealogist of the Walker family of Chester Valley, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Thomas R. and Mary Baynes Walker and in 1875 was married to Dr. Thomas Hale Streets. These papers are largely genealogical data compiled on the Walker family for her book, Lewis Walker of Chester Valley and His Descendents, 1686-1896, and correspondence after its publication.

Swett family Bible

Scope and Contents

This collection is comprised of a printed Bible, which includes a brief concordance and index in the back. Between the Aprocrypha and New Testament is a handwritten genealogy of the Swett family. It also includes a note that the Bible was gifted from William Hudson to hid graddaughter Mary Howell in 173_.

Taylor Family papers

Abstract

This collection traces several generations of the Quaker Taylor family, but centers on Francis R. Taylor (1884-1947) and George Washington Taylor (1803-1891). The former was an attorney and collector of information about his own and related families, as well as local historical information. The latter, who ran a free produce store in Philadelphia in the period before the American Civil War, was connected through his interests in free labor to many correspondents.

This collection contains materials pertaining to the Taylor family. It contains correspondence, journals, legal documents, genealogical information, and research in the history of Quakerism. There are also many photographs in the collection, including carte de vistas and other nineteenth century photographic techniques. Other related families within the collection include the Savery, Scattergood, Richie, Hooton, and Roberts families.
