Processing Information

Material was dismounted from both scrapbooks and the covers were discarded, due to the acidity of the paper. Scrapbook A, entitled "Europe 1938," was comprised of newspaper clippings, a series of pages of mini-prints and ephemera. The newspapers she saved have been listed and the scope described, but the clippings themselves were discarded. The mini-prints and ephemera have been retained. Scrapbook B, of Austria and Germany, bulk dates 1958-1959, is primarily photographs of Quaker relief efforts and postcards. An acid-free photocopy was made of the scrapbook before dismounting to preserve the written identification of places and people.
