Lois Linn Killough Buss scrapbook

 Collection — Volume: 2
Identifier: 9LS-22/-Album -44

Scope and Contents

The Lois Linn Killough Buss scrapbooks houses the two scrapbooks of Lois Killough, Bryn Mawr class of 1947. The bulk of the material in Volume 1 is from Killough’s Bryn Mawr career, from 1943-1947. Volume 2 contains material from 1947 only.

The collection consists of two volumes. Much of the first scrapbook is devoted to vacations taken during Killough’s time at Bryn Mawr, and much of what is directly related to the College consists of clipped magazine articles which, if somewhat impersonal, do give a very interesting view of the media’s perception and presentation of Bryn Mawr in the late ‘40s and (it appears) early ‘50s. Volume 2 consists of materials from Spring Break ’47 and Graduation. Both scrapbooks are meticulously captioned.

This collection seems valuable mostly as a record of the possibilities for social life for Bryn Mawr students during the late forties. It would be of value to those interested in Bryn Mawr’s history during this time period, especially those interested in the vacations of students.
