Valley Friends Meeting was previously named Harrisonburg.
Friends in this area of the Shenandoah Valley began meeting for worship in 1979, organizing as Harrisonburg Preparative Meeting in 1983 under the care of Charlottesville Monthly Meeting. Harrisonburg was granted monthly meeting status by Baltimore Yearly Meeting in 1986. Their name was changed to Valley Friends Meeting in 2000.
