Biographical / Historical
Friends at Warrington and Newberry meetings asked to be set off from Sadsbury Monthly Meeting in 1747. The meeting became known as Warrington Monthly Meeting. Due to westward migration, Warrington Monthly Meeting was laid down in 1861, and its members joined to Menallen Monthly Meeting. After the Separation of 1828, the few Friends who sided with the Orthodox came under the care of Baltimore Monthly Meeting (Orthodox). In 1893, an Orthodox preparative meeting was formed in Adams County called Bendersville. In 1945, a group of Friends in Warrington expressed an interest in beginning a meeting at the same meeting house that was used in the 1700s. A second Warrington Monthly Meeting was established in 1947.
