Scope and Contents
This collection includes three student registers dating from 1834 to 1943.The first student register includes names, ages, and residences of students who attended the Haverford School (now Haverford College) from 1833-1856. The students ranged in age from 9 to 25 years old and were mostly from Pennsylvania and New York, though some hailed from other states along the East Coast. The next student register includes information on students who entered Haverford College from 1855-1859, with a few entries for students who entered as early as 1853. The book includes name, date of admission, date of birth, name of parent or guardian, post office address, and school last attended for these students. The last student register includes around 400 pages of information about students who entered Haverford College from 1900-1943. The categories students filled out were Class and Course, Name in Full, Post-Office Address, Place Born, Date of Birth, Father's Name in Full, Mother's Name in Full (Full Maiden Name), and School or College Last Attended. While the first student register is entirely handwritten, the following two contain a mix of handwritten and printed text.
