Sensitive Mail
Scope and Contents
This collection includes nine regular issues and one April Fools Day supplement of the Haverford humor magazine Sensitive Mail. Sensitive Mail includes humorous articles, letters, advertisements, illustrations, comics and more. The goal of the publication was to add some humor to the "uptight energy" on Haverford campus.

Historical note
Sensitive Mail was founded in 1987. The origins of Sensitive Mail were not politically motivated, but instead “just a bunch of guys goofing off.” While many students enjoyed the publication's silly content, Sensitive Mail received some backlash from students who found the publication too offensive. Mark Hudis, founder of Sensitive Mail, says of the first issue “a lot of people hated us and wanted to kill us.” While Sensitive Mail died out around 1990, Gary Garber and Todd Edwards (both Class of 1994) revived the paper in 1992. The magazine did not receive funding from the Students’ Council its second time around and instead relied on subscriptions to subsidize their budget. Subscriptions cost $12 per semester or $20 for the year, which included three or four issues a semester.
