Kate Thompson scrapbook
Scope and Contents
This scrapbook was created by Kate Thompson, a woman from Tennessee, over the course of four years- 1877-1881. The main features of the volume are the photographs, pictures, and newspaper clippings from both her time at the Fairmount Collegiate Institute for Young Ladies and her travels to major European capitals. There are pressed plants, caricatures, a peacock feather, greeting and calling cards, and pencil drawings in addition to the photographs and pictures. Some of these items have hand-written descriptions and dates.
