George L. Seeley scrapbook
Scope and Contents
The collection consists of a scrapbook which contains photographs from Mr. and Mrs. Seeley's work-related travels through South America and newspaper clippings informing about the trip. The photographs are of landscape, cities, national monuments, life on the ship (their mode of transport), George Seeley, his wife and their associates, including John C. Cohill. They were taken in New York, Sao Paulo, Pernambuco, Buenos Aires and Córdoba (Argentina). The collection also contains a letter written by Mrs. Seeley in Buenos Aires addressed to her mother.
The photos in the scrapbook aren't labeled. Majority of them are typical travelers' photos, however the scrapbook also contains a couple of business-related photographs.

Biographical / Historical
George L. Seeley was an American businessman who worked for the Firestone Tire and Rubber Export company of Akron, Ohio. In 1929, he and his wife took a business trip across four cities in South America - Sao Paulo (Brazil), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Montevideo (Uruguay).
John C. Cohill was an export manager at Firestone Tire and Rubber Company who in 1929 also took a three-month business trip to South America. Before working for Akron, he was in charge of Firestone's distributors for India.
