Biographical Note
Elizabeth Abbott Christ was a Quaker from New Jersey. She married Calvin D. Christ at Moorestown, New Jersey, in 1911. Her father, George Abbott, was a minister in the Society of Friends. Among other attributes making him a distiguished resident of Orlando, he was greatly interested in growing the finer varieties of palms and was a benefactor of the community in providing many of his palms for the area's beautification. She was very active in community club work and served as president of the local Sorosis Club.
