Biographical Note
William Cox Ellis (May 5, 1787 - December 13, 1871) was born in Fort Muncy, Pennsylvania. He was a lawyer who served in the United States House of Representatives from March 4, 1823 to March 3, 1825. Charles Ellis (1800-1874) was a founding member of the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, and served as its fourth president.
