Scull family papers
Scope and Contents
Three letters of the Scull family. Two letters relate to business matters; one letter relates to historical events. Two of the three letters are written to Scull family members. One of the letters is written in French to Monsieur Scull in 1926 is from Russian General Pyotr Nikolayevich Wrangel. Wrangel states that the work he has done over five years to organize his comrades in arms and to boost their morale is finished. His greatest concern is for those young people, unable to work, who are the hope of Russia's future. He speaks of the generosity of overseas friends, such as Scull.
There are also four other documents: lines written by a patient at Friends Asylum for the wedding of J.R. Potts and S. Bonsall; memorial for Judith Scull at Egg Harbor and Cape May Monthly Meeting, 1799, signed by Mark Townsend; a list of some overseers of William Penn Charter School across its history, including David Scull; and an annual report of Hospital of the Sick, ca. 1870.
