Biographical Note

Norman Wilson (1926-1973) was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 1926. He graduated from Antioch College, the school at which he became a Quaker, in 1951. He then received a master's from the University of Chicago and a Ph.D. in education from Columbia University. Wilson taught in New York before moving to Tokyo to serve as the director of the Asian Center for the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC). He then became the peace education secretary for the ASFC's New York office. He also served as the director of the Antioch-Putney Graduate School of Education. He died of cancer in Vermont in 1973, at age 47.

Acquisition

The Norman Wilson articles were donated to Special Collections, Haverford College in 1976 by Adrian and Christine Wilson.
