Scope and Contents
This collection includes notes taken at the Philadelphia Yearly Meetings of 1847, 1848, and 1852. It also includes two letters written by Joseph Walton, one letter each by Joseph Walton, Jr. and Samuel Walton, and poems about verious subjects including "Alma Mater" by H. Hartshorne, 1858.

Biographical Note
Joseph Walton (1817-1898) was a graduate of Westtown School and Haverford College (1836). He taught at Westtown School for about ten years, edited the Orthodox Quaker periodical entitled The Friend, and served as clerk of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting. In 1858, he married Lydia Lippincott at Chester Monthly Meeting in Moorestown, New Jersey.
