Correspondence among David Elkinton, Curt and Rosalie Regen, and Koozma Tarasoff
Scope and Contents
This collection consists of 4 letters between David Elkinton, Curt and Rosalie Regen, and Koozma Tarasoff discussing a trip to visit Doukhobor families, a small ethno-religious group in western Canada, descended from a group of Russians who split from the Eastern Orthodox Church in the 1700s and migrated in 1899 when they refused to take up arms for the Tsar. The group, similarly to Quakers, values egalitarianism, pacifism, and nonviolence. A list of Duoukhober families is also available in this collection.
