This collection is comprised of a single volume letterbook containing the correspondence between William G. Rhoads, Samuel Rhoads, and Asa Wing. The volume includes both personal and business correspondence.

Biographical Note
William Gibbons Rhoads (1838-1880) was born March 26, 1838, in Pennsylvania, the son of Samuel Rhoads Jr. (1806-1868) and Anne Gibbons (1809-1890). He married Sarah Wistar on November 26, 1866, and the couple had six children: Lydia Wistar Rhoads (1868-1920), Jane Gibbons Morris (1870-1950), Ethel Rhoads Potts (1871-1962), Edward Rhoads (1873-1903), William Rhoads (1876-1960), and Samuel Rhoads (1878-1930). William G. Rhoads died April 28, 1880.
Samuel Rhoads Jr. (1806-1868) was born on September 19, 1806, the son of Samuel and Sarah (Garrett) Rhoads. Samuel Rhoads, Jr. was a manager of Haverford College and the publisher and editor of the Friends Review from 1853 to 1867. On March 15, 1837, he married Anne Gibbons (1809-1890). Anne Gibbons died on February 16, 1890 at the age of 81, and Samuel Rhoads Jr. died on July 14, 1868. They had at least four children: Jane, Edward, Sophia and William Rhoads.
Asa Shove Wing (1850-1931) was the president of the Provident Life and Trust Company of Philadelphia. He married Sophia Rhoads (1850-1901) on April 30, 1873.
