Biographical Note
Richard Price Hallowell (1835-1904) was born on December 16, 1835, in Philadelphia, Pennshylvania, the son of Morris Longstreth Hallowell and Hannah Hallowell. He married Anna Coffin Davis in 1859, and the couple had eight children: Maria Mott Hallowell (b. 1860), May Hallowell (b. 1861), Penrose Hallowell (b. 1862), James Mott Hallowell (b. 1865), Lucretia Mott Hallowell (b. 1867), Frank Walton Hallowell (b. 1870), Marietta Hallowell (b. 1876), and Louise T. Hallowell (b. 1884). Richard Price Hallowell died on January 5, 1904, in West Medford, Massachusetts.
