"Poems of Su-Shieh"
Scope and Contents
This collection is comprised of the single volume publication of the "Poems of Su-Shieh," and the labels that accompanied it during an earlier exhibit. This modern copy of the poems of Su Shi was produced as a copy book for practice in handwriting. The original poems reprinted here, according to the introduction of the volume, were written during a party when Su Shi was reading ancient poetry to his guests, and suggested that they write their own poems. It was published by the “Public Publishers” in Shanghai.

Biographical Note
Su Shi (蘇軾, 1037–1101) was a Song Dynasty writer, poet, calligrapher, artist, politician, and pharmacologist. His courtesy name was Zizhan (子瞻); his pseudonym was Dongpo Jushi (東坡居士 “Resident of the Eastern Slope”); he is often referred to as Su Dongpo (蘇東坡).
Su Shi is regarded as one of the most important figures in classical Chinese literature, famous for two types of poetry and his travel writing. He is known as a master of calligraphy. He also held a variety of government positions throughtout China.
