This collection contains materials relating to the Honor System, Honor Code, and Honor Council at Haverford College. This collection consists of minutes, correspondence, Honor Council trial abstracts, copies of the Honor Code, and other reports and documentation pertaining to the different iterations of the Honor Code at Haverford.

Historical Note
The Honor System was started by Haverford students in 1897, and went through a series of changes over the course of the college's history. In 1944, the Honor System underwent changes and became more comprehensive. In 1968, the Honor Council was established. After experiencing some difficulties in the early 1980s, the Honor Sysem experienced a "renaissance" in the mid-1980s. Today, the Honor Council system is a key element of the student governance structure, and the Honor Code and Honor Council trials are responsible for administering the Honor Code that all students must sign on to in order to attend Haverford.
