Biographical / Historical
In 1931 students came together to form the Haverford College Debating Council with three goals 1) "To increase substantially the material reward for varistiy debating" 2) "To win a reasonable proportion of inter-collegiate debates by placing the best available team on platform" 3) "To make way for a continued influx of relatively inexperienced materials, with adequare and sincere assurances to this less experiened material of a fair and reasonable chance to participate in, at least, an alternative capacity, in outer-collegiate debates." Their minute book only includes entries for two meetings, one in September 1931 and one in October 1931.
