Historical Note

The Glee Club and the Banjo Club were the first two musical clubs allowed at Haverford College. The Glee Club was founded in the fall of 1887 by students under the tutelage of Professor Frank Morley, the group's first instructor. The Banjo Club was founded around 1888. There are records of the Mandolin Club dating from 1892.
