Thomas Kimber collection
Scope and Contents
This collection contains a letter from Thomas Kimber, dated October 16, 1830, to Richard Mott, as well as a portrait of Kimber and brief description. The letter primarily covers the possibility of a meeting of all of the stockholders invested in the “Friends Central School” (Haverford College). Kimber also relays the important topics brought up at a recent investment meeting. He ends the letter by commenting on the work needed to be done in the Baltimore Yearly Meeting to promote the school. The portrait of Kimber includes his parents and birth and death dates on the verso, while the included description incorrectly attributes the letter to Kimber’s son.
