Scope and Contents

The collection consists of one photograph album, which primarily contains pictures of the landscape and buildings of Haverford College. The pictures were taken during all seasons. The album also contains photos of classrooms, athletic areas and sports fields, and the Haverford cricket team.

Biographical / Historical

Theodore Brinton Hetzel (1906-1990) was born in Germantown, Pennsylvania and graduated from Haverford College in 1928. After completing his graduate studies in engineering, he returned to Haverford as a professor in 1936 and remained on the faculty until 1972. He was also a member of Quaker organizations which worked with Native Americans, especially American Friends Service Committee and he was involved with multiple projects aimed at indigenous rights.
