Biographical Note

Walter Willits Pharo was born in Tuckerton, New Jersey, on May 31, 1855, and entered Haverford College in 1871. In his junior year at the College, Pharo gave an oration titled "Richelieu" to his class. He was graduated in 1875, and spent his life as an iron manufacturer and dealer. He married Elizabeth Bellerby Wilson on October 30, 1894. He died in Haverford, Pennsylvania on October 10, 1919.
