Scope and Contents
This small volume contains autographs from faculty and students at Haverford College. It also includes newspaper clippings about marriages and deaths of people associated with Haverford, and commencement ceremonies. Some of the autographs contain handwritten poems, and some quotes are in Greek.

Historical Note
Richard Thomas Jones was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in May 1844, the son of Jacob Paul Jones, Benefactor, and Mary Thomas. He entered Haverford in 1859 and graduated in 1863. During his time at Haverford, Jones was vice president of the Loganian Society and president of the Athenaeum. He gave an address to the Loganian society about "The Literary Genius of America" in 1863. After attending Haverford, he entered the counting-house of Morris and Jones. He was an iron merchant. He married Marie Louise Bailey, daughter of Joseph T. and Marie Louise Bailey of Philadelphia, on April 29, 1868. He died in Philadelphia on June 6, 1868.
