Scope and Contents
The Edwin Tomlinson autograph album contains signatures and selected quotes from students at Haverford College from 1858 to 1859. The album was compiled by Tomlinson, and contains the signatures of many of his peers and officers. Quotes from various sources, including Longfellow and Cicero, accompany the signatures throughout the book.

Biographical Note
Edwin Tomlinson was born in Laurel Hills, New Jersey, on January 2nd, 1841. Tomlinson entered the Academical Department at Haverford College in 1855, and left at the end of sophomore year in 1859. After leaving Haverford College, Tomlinson became a farmer. He died in Kirkwood, New Jersey, on April 22nd, 1896. He was the father of Ephraim Tomlinson and Sarah T. Inskeep.
