Biographical Note
Roberts M. Canby was born in Wilmington, Delaware, on April 7, 1819, to James Canby and Elizabeth Roberts. He entered Haverford College in 1833 and left the same year. Canby was one of the twenty-one students present at Haverford on opening day. He died on September 25, 1854, in Wilmington, Delaware.
