This collection contains one letter written by Austin Wright, Jr. to his mother. Wright tells his mother about the weather at Haverford, a pair of pants he has worn through, and the status of his half-year marks, among other remarks about his first year at Haverford. The collection also contains the envelope addressed to his mother in Bedford, PA.

Biographical Note
Austin Wright, Jr. entered Haverford in 1921 and graduated in 1925. He was born May 20, 1904, and lived in Bedford, Pennsylvania. He became a professor of English at Carnegie Mellon University, specializing in Victorian literature. He died in 1979.
