Lawrence J. Morris pen-and-ink caricature

 Collection
Identifier: HCS-003-149

Scope and Contents

This collection contains a pen-and-ink caricature drawn by or drawn of Lawrence J. Morris, a member of the Haverford College Class of 1889. The drawing depicts a man, possibly Morris, sitting on top of a rolling cart. In the figure’s hand is a hatchet and chisel, while his foot supports a bucket with liquid spraying out. The figure looks to be in a slightly disheveled state, with tools emerging from his pocket. The L.J. and Co., inscribed on the side of the rolling cart, is likely a reference to Morris’s uncle’s mercantile firm of the same name. The drawing is undated.
